Dear Sudoers,
Rick Simon ("Ricardo"), beloved by many, passed away on November 29, 2017. He
was 48, born 1/23/1969 - originally from Miami, Florida. Rick lived in San Francisco and
Oakland over the past decade. He was much involved in the community, including
co-founding the Bay Area Community Exchange (BACE) Timebank, a bartering exchange system
to help the local economy during the recession. He also participated in the Occupy
Movement in SF and Oakland.
We, the members of the BACE Timebank, would like to commemorate his life, bring people
together to talk about many of all the things Rick was involved in and cared about, and to
do a volunteer drive in order to rescue some of his efforts.
Rick impacted a lot people’s lives, and we’ve been moved by hearing of his passing. This
event will be an opportunity to benefit from his energy, by bringing to life some of the
efforts that he is no longer able to put energy into.
