Honestly, it sounds like something my grandmother would have signed up for.
Is it like an extended burning man session? There are lots of people I know
who are over 30 that do things like this.

kids, or married, signing up for a seasons-long camping situation. Younger
people are more willing to tolerate high-distraction high-interruption
close quarters, sharing bathrooms with non-family adults, have less to lose
by sequestration from family, and can risk skipping a day job for a few
seasons. my thinking, anyway.
