I am a Community Organizer with Community Democracy in Action (CDA). CDA is a sub-committee of the Community Democracy Project <https://communitydemocracyproject.org/>, an all volunteer run organization that wrote the People's Budget Initiative <https://communitydemocracyproject.org/faqs/>. We are reaching out to our like-minded community members to invite you to the *People's Budget Initiative Info Session and Fundraiser *happening on *Friday, May 27th from 4-10pm at Omni Commons* (4799 Shattuck Ave, Oakland). The People's Budget Initiative, *if passed*, will restructure the budget process in the City of Oakland so that all residents will have a direct vote on where their tax dollars go. Year after year, we have seen how our fellow community members fight to get a budget that reflects our needs.
