Hi Sudoers:
See below: anyone here interested in taking on this scientific
instrument repair request for pay? Or as a group project for Sudoroom?
Cheers, -Peter

Hi Sudoers:
Jon from SF is coming to tonight’s SoftWEAR and Hardware Hacking Night
with a Broken usb thumb drive with his taxes on it so it’s kind of an
emergency for him:
Broken usb thumb drive Sandisk Ultra Laptop fell over while in
use, bending drive and making internal contacts disconnect Needs
soldering, but I don't have much experience with things this small.
Can those with good soldering skills help him tonight?
Sincerely, -Peter

Hi,
I'm planning to come to the Sudo Room tomorrow (Tuesday) night. Thank you
again for your help. See you there?

Thanks for helping with the USB drive the other day! I appreciate your
attempt.
I can't come to Oakland this Tuesday, but will try next Tuesday.
Thanks,

Hey Sudo Room!
I'm in search of some suggestions, I'd like to build something that
would give me a visual cue for when to water my plants (I have other
similar needs as well, all related to how bad my memory is😂). You
could say I could set an alarm on my phone, but I'd like to set a tiny
display near my plants, that would go red when it's time to water my
plants and green when I reset it after watering my plants. Probably
need to code it to go red after 3 days or so.
Need something small, I thought maybe this MicroBit can be a good option
https://microbit.org/
Do we have one of these available at SudoRoom by chance?
Anyways, open to other ideas as well before I commit to that!

go tot he website to see the videos!
OUR SECOND DARKMODE FRIDAY WAS QUIETER AND MORE INTIMATE, FOCUSING ON
“TRADITIONAL” ART FORMS OF DANCE AND PUPPETRY WITH BALINESE MUSIC, INDIAN
ODISSI, AND THE ALVIN AILEY DANCE TROUPE
We had a more chill second DarkMode this March with projectors set up, but
it was pretty cool to focus on smaller themes with a smaller group of
people. What happened in this version was less anime, weird LEDs, and
instead chose more “traditional” performances to project onto the walls.
It’s interesting how different the psychological effect is when the screens
are less “square” and dancers appear all over the space on top of graffiti
and equipment instead of a big white rectangle. We got chills down our
spines projecting the classic “Revelations”
<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDXerubF4I4> by the Alvin Ailey Dance
Company. <https://ailey.org/>
We would like to also bring more involvement with the dance community, and
viewing dance at SudoRoom! There is something special about watching Odissi
performed by the talented Sujata Mohapatra <https://sujatamohapatra.org/> on
the walls we usually weld, solder and program in.

What happens when your hackerspace becomes the stage in itself and absorbs
the spirituality of the dancers before you?

Alvin Ailey is soooo good!

Sitting around and rubber ducking while downloading deepseek on our
machines was really fun last time. I'll probably schedule a Deepseek
persian tea session again!

Anyone interesting?

What do you think? we could chill out with some beers and non alcoholic
drinks, prep up our costumes and bike lights or even coordinate with the
Crucible for a bike light event the night before on Thursday?

I don't have a Mac but two people have reported something like "I'm
experiencing a 5 second complete connection loss every several minutes on
Omni"
I can look in the router's logs but it doesn't do the wifi, that's a
separate "ruckus controller"
So if anyone has a mac, and is technical, please try to gather some info
and figure out what's going on. Probably most people affected by this are
just assuming our wifi is crappy but there is probably something specific
that we might be able to fix?
