Calling all hardware startups: Sheet Acrylic Manufacturing Workshop

Hi Everyone, There are still spots open for my acrylic manufacturing class at Noisebridge this weekend. This 3 hour workshop will cover manufacturing with acrylic sheets--the best alternative to 3d printing and injection molded enclosures. If you are a startup and don't have the capital or the volumes to justify expensive plastic molds, manufacturing out of sheet acrylic might be the answer for you. Myself (Ruth) and Rik are running a sheet acrylic manufacturing workshop. We make the whole process accessible, from teaching joints/cutting/bending to sharing local prototyping contacts and hosting a 30 minute Q&A with a Chinese contract manufacturer. Release Arduino Blockly IDE

Hello, I just released my Arduino Blockly IDE; it allows people to create Arduino Code by dragging and dropping blocks onto the screen. It works on windows, mac, and Linux. Right now windows will try to block it because I don't have enough reputation with the certificate I bought. Annual Fire Inspection scheduled - Tuesday 5/1 @ 2:30pm

Greetings Omninoms! Thanks to DK, we have our annual fire inspection scheduled for this Tuesday at 2:30pm with Inspector Garrett. Aggressive/rude Disco Room occupants on Monday evenings

Omni's booking working group was just informed by a longtime renter of repeated rude and aggressive behavior from people occupying the Disco Room some of the past Monday evenings, when it is booked for their dance rehearsals, as well as repeated interruptions. Since sudoers are among the most regular inhabitants of the building, I'm writing the list to ask if anyone knows who these people might be and to inquire if there's been any "territorialization" of the Disco Room over the past month or two. diaster.radio modulation scheme tests

Hi all, I ran some tests on LORA modulation schemes to get the best results I could on a 100mW TX power budget. I nearly ran out of gas during this latest test, and unfortunately I managed to screw up my data logging, so I don't have RSSI or SNR data, but this map contains all the places I stopped and got a two way signal on my jet ski. The transmitter was in my hand, the receiver was at pier 50, SF. DIY half wave dipoles were used, with a center freq of 900MHz with a +/- 100MHz 3db roll off. https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1dE2QZS9cgX_oHLWyzmUNAYrjlbX0wJp… I found that quarter wave antennas are no good (see the red markers). The blue markers are today's test, using RFM95's from HopeRF. To get the very long range, I used the following modulation scheme using the RadioHead library. Cafe Proposal

Hey Sudoers, Jose and Abad who are proposing the cafe in the Omni Entrance Hall would like to come to the Sudo meeting on 4/25 to meet you and talk to you all about their proposal. This is a chance for you to clarify the lease proposal terms and express any concerns you may have. If this would not be a good time for them to come to the meeting, please let me know.
