agreed with laura 100%. given previous threats of physical violence to sudo room members (which i personally witnessed), non-consensus on there not being a signed agreement (which i also experienced the consenso of in-person) and lack of clarity on next steps & future accountability, i am blocking this proposal on behalf of sudo room until the aforementioned issues are addressed and actually consented-upon. cc'ing sudo-discuss. sudoroom bigTV sound situation

i brought in a little box to connect to the sudoroom big TV, it goes between the HDMI from the raspberry pi and the TV, and provides analog audio out. The amplifier for the TV built-in speakers is fried. So i want to use external speakers, so we can have the IRC voice work again, and whatever else. the raspberry pi's built-in analog audio output doesn't work even when i tried configuring it like the internet says. Maybe you have better luck, go ahead and try. Anyway, i don't know where the little box went. Do you? -jake

Opentrons using Sudoroom Laser Cutter

hi Julian, the sudoroom laser cutter is totally available for you to use. place to document my project

Hi all, I'm working on a long-term project to build a, say, 8 x 20 matrix display. Each "pixel" hopefully maybe 2"x2" big. Hopefully one day to mount on the wall in sudoroom and allow people to throw up text and Atari characters etc. This is related to noisebridge display, but with a different aesthetic. Is there a spot on the sudoroom website where I could document my progress on this project, blog style? Otherwise I guess I would use traditional blogging platform. Thanks, The Cap'n

Announcing "Build Your Own Internet" Office Hours

Hey sudoers, [cross-posting from mesh list] Have you been dying to help build the People's Open Network, but aren't sure where to start. Maybe you've heard about our mysterious node mounts, but don't have a smartphone or aren't part of some __super secretive chat group__. Or perhaps you'd just like help selecting a local ISP for your new apartment. Fear not, we're here to help. Starting this Sunday, Feb. 4th, SudoMesh be holding regular "office hours" on Sunday afternoons in SudoRoom. Running loosely from 1pm until late afternoon or early evening, this time serves dual purpose: 1. A jumping off point for people interested helping with a scheduled Sunday node mount, but who are not able to attend a Tuesday night meeting or are not "in the know." 2. A friendly, non-confrontational time for new people to get oriented to the project or just ask general questions about networking, the internet, and their service provider. Finally, when either of these purposes are not present (i.e. no node mount, no new people), we will use the time to hold training sessions on a topic of choice, conduct outreach to potential node locations, address finances and purchasing, or tackle any other outstanding issues. For this Sunday, we do not have a scheduled node mount yet and do not expect new people (since this just now being announced). Instead, we will be doing basic training on how lead or participate in a node mount. We will also be contacting and scheduling our existing list of node requests.
