getting people to come to the omni

I'm not assigning anyone work, just mentioning what I'md doing to invite people to the OmniCommons. I just copied and pasted the schedule here and sent it in email. It's nice! I meet a lot of tech people, so of course they'll "get" stuff like node.js workshops or Biotech lab nights. But it's cool for them to see that there are also other things going on at the Omni, like the East Bay homes not jails meeting. Maybe I'm implying they might be able to casually run into people running Food Not Bombs / Open Source Insulin if they're coming in to solder. That's one of the big benefits of the Omni compared to other places I've been! Despite time constraints will try to make this happen! is everyone feeling good? nice to see y'all SFAI Artist: Neither Anything Hid Neither Anything Hid Nicole Archer, PhD, is an assistant professor in the history and theory of contemporary art at SFAI, where she also serves as the chair of the BA Department + Liberal Arts. Archer researches contemporary art and material culture, with an emphasis on modern textiles and garment histories. Further interests include critical and psychoanalytic theory, corporeal feminism, and performance studies. She is currently writing a manuscript, A Looming Possibility: Towards a Theory of the Textile, which considers how textiles are used to produce and maintain the limits of “legitimate” versus “illegitimate” forms of state violence. Her work has appeared in Women & Performance: A Journal of Feminist Theory and Textile: The Journal of Cloth and Culture.
