Photos of low cost tiny house on foundation - completed Autumn 2019 to house homeless couple in Marin

Cost to build this tiny house was $3500 for materials, labor was donated by my non-profit. This tiny house follows the guidelines of AB 2176 for "housing crisis emergency shelter". Having 120 square feet and being no taller than 15 ft above ground level, no permits are required. As part of a workaround for dealing with occupancy issues, zoning laws and unpleasant nimby neighbors in Marin County, it is located on a "sanctuary site" - where federal religious land use laws apply under RLUIPA. This tiny house provides shelter for a young couple who grew up in Marin, obtained college degrees and are both employed in Marin. After a series of rent increases on a small room they were renting which was substandard, they could not find any other affordable options in Marin and started living out of a car. The plans are open source - I am working on completing a sketchup model before the plans go up on github. Since my non-profit wishes to construct more of these shelters in Marin and other locations in California, I am working on the next version of the design which incorporates elements from wikihouse and will utilize a cnc router for construction. Free Tube Amplifiers

I've finally come around to realizing that I'm just not going to finish a couple electronics projects I set aside a few years back. If anyone is interested in post-war tube audio, I have, free to a good home: - Dynaco PAS-2 preamplifier - Dynaco Stereo 70 power amplifier All the bits are there, including tube complements, and I've had both working quite well in the past. The selenium rectifiers have been replaced, but I started, but did not finish, replacing the power supplies and can capacitors with modern components. They'll need that work finished before they can play music. I should mention that the power amplifier is heavy. If you're interested, you'll probably want to put them in a vehicle: car, truck, bicycle trailer, &c. I should also mention that while these could be great first projects in tube audio, anyone working on these kinds of circuits should be mindful of electrical safety. Voltages are high, and power supply capacitors can store dangerous amounts of energy. I have a homemade capacitor discharge tool if you want it. Relatedly, I also have a TubeDebot 6L6 kit amplifier in good working order, also free to a good home. I'm not sure if the model is exactly the same, but here's the manufacturer's current page: https://tubedepot.com/products/model-16ls-stereo-integrated-tube-amplifier It's a neat little amp, quite powerful, takes line-level input, and has a built-in volume knob, so you can use it for phones or computers or MP3 players without preamplification. Hi everyone, I know we discussed at the last meeting Gwen slamming the door in someone's face when she asked to use the bathroom. There was another incident that went down the exact same way a few days ago, and tonight there was another that prompted me to ask Gwen to leave. I was sitting in the small classroom and heard Gwen answer the door, and shouted "it's 50,000 a month, are you going to help pay for this place, huh, are you" in a very aggressive tone, but she allowed the person in to use the bathroom. As the person was leaving, Gwen shouted "YOU'RE WELCOME" repeatedly in an extremely snotty tone. I heard this myself, confirmed I'd heard correctly with the woman who used the bathroom, and then asked Gwen to leave. To her credit, she simply said "no problem" and left immediately. This is a completely unacceptable way to answer the door at Omni. I'm not sure if Gwen if a sudo member, but I strongly feel whichever collective she belongs to should call her in and have a conversation about this. At the same time, I feel we have the responsibility not to pretend this problem is limited to Gwen and at the next sudo meeting we need to brainstorm ways to reform the door policy to be more inclusive.

A blockchain network to enforce policies for decentralized organizations

Hi sudoroom, Everything going well on your ends? I haven't been able to keep up to date with the happenings of the collective. Anyways, I'm writing because I recently stumbled upon on a blockchain system which allows for trust-less enforcement of decentralized organization policies. I found the project intriguing and wanted to run this past the community to see what people think about the structure. Using a set of voting classes and judicial review classes written into contracts, the network they built provides transparent governance for the viewing and participation in important decision for open groups. new tables

we picked up those tables that were on craigslist a few days ago. there are 5 small ones and 3 large ones. they are very strong, and have places for outlets so we can get rid of the extension cords. if we cut two of the long ones length-wise to be the same width as the short ones, then we can have the same exact table situation we have going on right now but with much stronger and nicer tables. - - - - Weblog: http://adammunich.com With great power comes great responsibility.

My hope is that we can decentralize science and learning, so more people can have that opportunity in life regardless of how small the Ivory towers are. Possible power cuts Wed-Thu - who has physical keys to Omni?

You may have heard by now that we're expecting high winds tomorrow and Thursday, and PG&E is planning to shut down power across large parts of the Bay Area. On the last map I was able to check, the Omni was supposed to be well outside the area of power cuts, but that could of course change with the weather... Who actually has physical keys to the Omni, and could let people in if the battery on the front door keycard mechanism runs out? Patrik

Increase email size limitations to sudo discuss
