Please forward this invitation to your member collectives! If we're not able to find enough volunteers, we will have to turn this event down. Here's a description of the event: Stay Brown Stay Down Fest is a three-day music, culture and arts festival happening in the Bay Area in August 2015. The festival is a celebration recognizing the contributions of Latinxs/Chicanxs/Indigenxs in punk. While we encompass multiple intersecting identities, we recognize that they are the end products of colonization and we use punk not only as an artistic manifestation but as a tool of resistance against systemic oppression. The festival has been produced in Chicago, Los Angeles, San Antonio, and New York. This year, the Bay Area will take over. Originally conceived as Latino Punk Fest in Chicago and held annually all over the US, we decided to take the basic framework and transform it. We plan on hosting around 20 bands, a number of community organizations who will teach workshops and offer free services for the community, and invite a number of vendors to table within those two days. Money charged for admission will go directly back to the bands, many of which will be traveling from out of town/state/country. If we can make enough, we would also hope to be able to give back to the organizations who come to teach a workshop. We do not plan on making any revenue. Our goal is to break even and to help out those who are helping us.

Do you know who this trailer belongs to? One of our neighbors is convinced it belongs to someone who comes to the Omni and is very upset. He wants it gone in the next 48 hours. I personally don't recognize it but if anyone on any of these lists knows who this trailer might belong to, please let that person know that if they do not remove it in the next two days, it will be gone. Details AdaCamp Oakland will be the eighth AdaCamp put on by our non-profit, the Ada Initiative, so we have a detailed and extensive conference plan (including a well-organized todo list) and experienced management and support staff. We need a conference organizer with strong local knowledge and connections to execute our conference plan on a tight schedule. >From 3 months to one month before the event, you will probably be working an average of 5 hours a week. In the month prior to the event, you will probably be working 20 hours a week. During the event, you will be working 10 hours for two weekend days in a row, plus about 5 hours a day on the previous day at the conference reception. Except for the days of the event, you decide where and when you work. This is a temporary, hourly, part-time position for someone with U.S. work rights living in or near the San Francisco Bay Area that pays $40 - $60/hr for pre-event work, and $60 - $80/hr for time worked on-site during the event. We are holding a second AdaCamp in Oakland in December and would prefer to work with the same organizer for that event if at all possible. Greetings friends, so glad to be back in town and see what omni has turned into... I just dumpstered like 50 box grow your own oyster mushroom kits. Is this the kind of awesome junk I should bring by? I could imagine handing them out piecemeal or setting up (and maintaining) a mushroom closet or bringing em someplace else and leaving omni out of it.... all of these possibilities are possible. sudomesh: low on people power, but high on fun
