I'm not involved in the promotion the event at all, simply supporting
it happening (yay free speech).
That said, I'm not sure anyone was planning to advertise in the
Mayor's letter. My impression was that it might be posted on the
announce list and the website, like any other event, to let people
know about it.
I do like the idea of teaching that it's not exploitative, and that
there is a lot of effort to counter that element of the porn industry
(see: CineKink, Femina Potens, etc).
Maybe we could even feature a workshop on "How to use porn to exploit
people" taught by Dirk Diggler ;)

that I am uniquely qualified to answer this question. I think if
you put the word smut in the title of the event, call it an erotic
film and have someone at the entrance reminding people who don't
seem like they know that it's adult only - that should be clear
enough to people who are worried about their impressionable young
ones.
We may also want to avoid advertising in the Mayor's letter, since
family values folks apparently read that very carefully. I think a
flyer explaining the point of it not being exploitative porn may be
even more relevant for the potentially offended.
I agree that Matt, who was raised in the San Fernando Valley (me
too) - the center of the world's porn industry (see Boogie Nights),
should be in charge of the red velvet curtain and other 'classy'
gestures.

For those opposed to the concept of children, I have it on very
good authority that you were children at one point. Hypocrites.

Please provide clarification on what "kid friendly" means?

Hey,
I would love to have screening of bike smut at
Sudo Room! There
are
some concerns, however, mainly because we are a
kid friendly
space
and want to make sure that if we do have an
erotic screening
it's
done in a way that makes it clear to everyone
whats going on.
Also
our screen is in a common area, so maybe it would
be best to
work
with public school to have the screening in a
more semi-private
space (their room).
