Thanks mike! It didn't occur to me to chat with the machine learning folks.
That's a great idea!
It's nice I think a lot of data can also be downloaded as a big Json or excel file so
it doesn't have to be called on the rest API as well

Many of the datasets are raw, i.e. comprised of rows and columns of data, so they should
be easy to pull via a REST call and then do whatever kind of visualization and analysis
you'd like within objective C.
Do you have any specific datasets in mind? Machine learning meetups have restarted and
we're going to meet next some time in January. It could be a good opportunity for you
to find people to work on your app with!

they manage the sf open data website... there's interesting stuff there, like all the
films that were filmed in SF, and their locations and actors, etc.
