Hi aaronco36
welcome to sudoroom!
you're certainly welcome to work on the machine at sudoroom, but if you
leave it there permanently i think it will be recycled as e-waste unless
somebody takes it away. It's too old and inefficient for us to use as a
server, since we're trying to conserve electricity use. Also we have a
lot of server hardware already that we're not using.
Thanks for the offer!

Just wanted to provide anyone else interested with some of the
specifications of the e325 rack machine I'm currently testing on the
SudoRoom hackatorium table. To be donated to (and hopefully used by)
SudoRoom.

upgraded to AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 248)
- IBM Rack eServer 325
- Dual 2.2GHz AMD Opteron CPUs
- Dual Gigabit Ethernet ports
- 3 GB total PC2700 ECC DDR RDIMM memory
- 120 GB IDE/PATA hard drive w/ OS, extra inserted but unconnected 120
GB IDE/PATA hard drive in adjacent drive bay (might have FreeBSD
pre-installed?)
- Unit with both IDE/PATA hard drives weighs 30lbs?
- Debian GNU/Linux Jessie i386 installed
- Completely insecure default login accounts posted on top of and below
machine.
Further nitty gritty details down below....... likely much TMI
The internal fans make a big screeching racket when machine first
powered on.
Might need some dusting+cleaning+lubrication.
Screeching soon disappears once machine passes through BIOS startup
screen(s).
