what do you guys think of making an experimental interior design/ museum
display section at SudoRoom. It could be someone practicing the craft of
interior design alongside a bookcase with "member recommended" books or a
weird ancient electronics equipment where someone writes a cool history.
surely there are people who do interior design that are creative but don't
want to make stuff that's mass market. Usually the folks who do something
creative have to design stuff for rich people. This is the kind of stuff
cool rich people would order:

surely there must be a way to make fun spaces in a cheap way.
This could even be a space for set designers, the kind of people who work
in theater. Hmm... I mean ok this idea is very labor intensive but maybe I
can try to give a spin at it. It would maybe not even be about interior
design but more about designing museum installation art.
I'm very much in favor of sudo room being improved by people with interior
design skills and we've considered a little "info/welcom table" up front
with an old mac and some other fun hacks. I would like to encourage that
any area modified in this way be modified toward being a usable area for
hanging out, chilling, reading or hacking, rather than being only for
display.
As always I appreciate your energy Romy and I'd be very interested in
working on this with you :) Are you imagining a little section like the
"rooms" in Ikea where most/all walls are missing but with its own
aesthetic, floor, lighting, etc?
Btw, not that we can't do it in sudo room but the basement area accessible
from sudo room downward stairs (with the sewing stuff) is also up for being
re-vamped. It's supposed to be an area for media
(printing/scanning/copying/stapling/laminating + sewing and other media
work) that the Omni collectives co-manage and co-habitate. It is no longer
being run by FYE.
