I'm not that familiar with the physical setup there. Does the sensor need
to distinguish between the door being closed vs locked?
If the we only need to detect if the door is open or closed, the simple
magnetic reed switches like they use for burglar alarms are cheap and easy.
If we need to sense if the lock is engaged or not, that might be more
complex.

To have a reliable API for physical access, we can't rely on Doorman
exclusively. People open the door all sorts of ways. They unlock the
space with a key and open the latch from the inside. At night they may
close the latch without sending any signal to tamale. So we can't rely
on the state of the space simply being the last signal sent to the
raspi....
BUT we should create a new repo with sensors on the door, that just
completes a circuit when the door is closed. If either of the doors are
open, we can assume the space is open! This elementary electronics is
beyond me, but I can help with creating a python RESTful interface, and
once that's working we can put it on the homepage!
