I think the gift shop at Chabot Space & Science Center still has glasses.

I was looking into that as well actually (and already
put a placeholder
for the Eclipse on the CCL meetup page
<https://www.meetup.com/Counter-Culture-Labs/events/241095078/>).
NASA has a good list Reputable Vendors of Solar Filters & Viewers
<https://eclipse.aas.org/resources/solar-filters>, and when I checked
last week many of these vendors still had glasses available, at around $2
each.* If you do wind up ordering some online, please order a few for CCL
as well* - we can split the cost.
Many libraries are also providing free glasses, and/or are planning
eclipse parties. The Libraries Hosting Eclipse Events
<http://spacescience.org/software/libraries/map.php> map actually shows
an eclipse party at the Temescal branch of the Oakland Public Library just
down the road from us, on the corner of 52nd and Telegraph. But the Oakland
Library website
<http://oaklandlibrary.org/blogs/from-main-library/experience-eclipse>
seems to suggest the eclipse party will be at the main branch downtown
Oakland. Still, may be worth walking in the Temescal branch and see if you
can pick up some free glasses...

PS: Maximum eclipse at our location will be 76%, at 10:16am

Anyone here know how someone could make their own solar eclipse glasses
in order to safely view the August 21st solar eclipse??
Was thinking of using multiply-folded metallized film laminate that's
found in common antistatic bags for a filter. AFAICT, 5X foldings of the
2-ply antistatic bags -- 10 layers in total -- similar to those described at
http://www.all-spec.com/Catalog/Static-Control/ESD-Safe-Bags/Static-Shieldi…
and at
http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/mediawebserver?mwsId=SSSSSuUn_zu8l00xM82xlx_eN…
seem to _completely_ block out all sunlight.
All local stores in the general SudoRoom part of the East Bay that I've
so far contacted are already out of stock or are running very low on
manufactured and properly ISO-certified eclipse glasses, e.g., those type
of places listed at
www.yahoo.com/news/where-buy-eclipse-glasses-total-130000190.html
Have also seen the warnings about buying counterfeit glasses, e.g., at
http://abcnews.go.com/US/avoid-buying-counterfeit-solar-eclipse-glasses/sto…
TY for good suggestions,
