Do think it might be worth considering a "no non-members after midnight"
rule? With an exception for events, or if a member explicitly vouched for
them.
If we can do the building sweep before any sleepers are fully settled in,
and while there are still enough members around, we shouldn't have to get
into that kind of situation.
Face it, if there are still non-members around after midnight, chances are
they're hoping to spend the night. ..

thank you, patrik. it seems to be worse in the
mornings & late at night
when few or no members are around. additionally, it appears as though
people are not clearing the building at night. last night, matthew, who was
upstairs on his laptop came down to sudo/ccl & found someone sleeping in
ccl. brenden, kelly & romi were the last ones i saw in sudo as i was
leaving. matthew was unable to wake the guy up without physically shaking
him, which he was too scared to do alone.
for the record, i will continue to clear the building if i am the 2nd to
or last person to leave

Thanks for your efforts, Robb. Just so you know -
it's hugely
appreciated!.
I try to do my best checking the doors as well. I think the situation -
at least in the evenings when I'm around - seems to have gotten much better
lately than it was in the past. I'm not in as often as you are, but I'll
try to step up my efforts when I am.
Let's definitely kick out non-members who consistently and intentionally
violate our rules. Our desire to show hospitality to non-members should not
outweigh the emotional well-being of our members.

jerome is not a member of any collective. i
failed to mention that
jackson, today, called me a "fucking whitey" after i told him for the 2nd
time today that he shouldn't be extending the deadbolt to keep the front
door open.
for the record, i am totally burnt on constantly checking and
locking/closing the doors and will no longer be checking them regularly as
the practice has completely frustrated me and is making me out to appear as
though i am racist against black people.
hopefully someone else will step forward to constantly secure the
building but i am currently and completely burnt on it and taking it too
personally and it is eating up all my time and energy.
good luck

Is Jerome a member of any of the collectives? We
should definitely NOT
be giving out keys to people who are not members and who already have a
track record of being irresponsible with door access.
