[sudo-discuss] laser cutter intro

Hi Sudoers, first of all, happy holidays!! I've been at the space two or three times but I'm still pretty new here... I was wondering, what's the state of the big red laser cutter? I'm working on a project for which I need to cut 5 mm plywood sheets with some rather intricate patterns. I've used a rather similar laser at the UC Berkeley before. Anything I should know before using it? If it's operational, is there anyone around who could give me a quick walk-through at some point? If it's not operational, I'd be happy to help to get it up and running ... Cheers, Michael
