you're correct that you can cut that type of LED tape along any of the

lines. It's made up of a bunch of independant circuits which each have

LEDs
and resistors and run on 12V, and then they're all in parallel for 12V
down the
whole strip. The current draw from your 12V power supply will change
with the
number of LEDs, but the voltage will always be 12V.
