I'll try to look into this later tonight.
 Thanks, Hol.

As an interim solution to upgrading all the
lighting to LED and adding
timers or sensors, which I think should be done within the first year, I
think you're spot on regarding the use of lamps w/ LED bulbs esp in the
basement to provide localized light sources for people hanging out there.
Niki, are the PG&E bills being paid online? There is a histogram on the
website showing usage by hour, which could be used to help pinpoint the
loads. The space is being used alot more now, but there are probably a few
big loads that can be tracked down. For a single residence, even one
person sitting at home on a laptop with a light on is noticeable! I've
used this feature to identify the need to add more insulation between the
gas stove and the refrigerator at home - slow cooking a brisket and the
fridge was averaging 200 watts that day instead of 50. Unfortunately this
doesn't absolve me of guilt for cooking brisket in the oven.

 Dear all,
I'm not sure if it's *only* the lights, but I also notice *a lot *of
excessive use of lights in the building. I.e. 1) lights being left on when
no one is around (such as in the basement or bathrooms, etc.) and 2) I
notice a lot of individuals occupying huge rooms with *all of the lights
on*. I understand the desire for solitude and obviously the Omni is
large enough to find that and it's totally fine. But could these
individuals take the initiative to be conscious of their use of
electricity? I.e. if you're in the basement alone with all of the lights
on, can you use a lamp or other source of light? Can you move to a smaller
space that only has one or two lights?
Related, I wonder if we could install timed/sensor lights in common
 spaces?

  Hey y'all.
You may or may not be aware but since we have moved in, our monthly PG&E
bill has gone from $481 to close to $900. I'm guessing it's just going to
 continue to climb.
I realize that we're using a lot more electricity than when John and
Mary were living there but I want us to please be mindful of the expense!!
Does anyone have thoughts as to what could be contributing to such an
increase? Is it simply having more lights on, more often?
Also - please turn off lights when you are not using them. I often see
lights left on around the building and it would be great if we could all
get in the habit on turning lights off when we leave a room!
