Henner, this is a pretty great, and thanks for the clear writeup of this
work!
I DO have a printer laser module (hexagon mirror along with it's f-theta
lens in tact), so there, presumably, wouldn’t be much of a limit to how
large of a surface area this thing could UV cure with.
Unfortunately, the f-theta lens that you get with it is optimized for
the near infrared wavelength the laser printers operate at and uses a
lot of energy when used with a 405nm laser. So direct mirror might
still be the best option (but I have never myself tried the f-theta
lenses in these equipments with 405nm, maybe it still is viable
enough?)
I am currently experimenting with bending mirrors to get a cone mirror
(
https://github.com/hzeller/ldgraphy/blob/master/design.md#cone-mirror-arc-e…
), but these experiments were not that successful yet (but this
project is only one of many, so things are slower than they could be).
I have a BB and all
the other components are pretty easy to acquire.
I am currently working on a cape for the pocket beagle for LDGraphy.
which will be nice and compact and also cheaper as the PocketBeagle is
only $25.

Goal here is to actually make double sided boards with two lasers from
two sides.
Anyway, I will probably only have more time on this more later this
year or January to finish up things.

I’m not inclined to work on this alone, but if other
people have a burning
need for something like this, then I would certainly like to collaborate!
