Thanks so much, Patrik. Ryan (w/ dreadlocks) and I want to set up a system
to do this consistently building-wide (not as part of the grant proposal,
although it's way to show the agency we care). Non-CRV bottles and cans,
and I think cardboard, can also be kept separate and taken over to Gilman
St. (depending on volume, but maybe weekly) and cash received.
Bins for this purpose are free and there are instructional signs and
notices available that can be modified as needed and then printed out. The
harder part will be educating people, and keeping them educated, about what
to do. I had a look in the carts the other day and things weren't entirely
happy.
Ultimately, if we do this right, we should be able to reduce the number of
carts.

Hi all,
I just threw several dozen bottles and cans in the recycling bins. If
someone wants to pick them out and cash them in, feel free!
There's a big blue recycling bin in CCL that I originally bought because
the Fermentation Station said they wanted more bottles. But inevitably, I'm
the one who winds up having to empty and clean that bin every week anyway.
So - IT'S FREE SEASON ON EVERYTHING WITH A CA REFUND VALUE! If the
Fermentation station empties the bin in CCL, that's great. If someone else
wants to come empty it on a regular basis, that's just fine with me too.
Just don't leave a mess for us to deal with afterwards. Please put all
non-refund recyclables in the small recycling bins, and all non-recyclables
in the black trash bin.
Thanks!
Patrik
