Subject: [omni-building] internet cable and garbage
To: omni-building(a)googlegroups.com
Hi All! I'm so excited to finally be moved into my space at the Omni. A
couple things have come up for me and I'm not sure if this is the right
place to reach out, if not can you point me in the appropriate direction?
1. There is a blue ethernet cable that comes in the wall between my shop
and the hallway and goes out the wall again a few feet away only to come
back in the doorway and then plug into the phone line (I think). I've been
asking for someone (from Sudo?) to reroute it so that it just comes in and
goes right to the plug instead of the wrapping around. I'm concerned that
it will be damaged by the door closing on it repeatedly. Who can help?
2. I know this may be more involved but I'm wondering if the placement of
the trash cans can/will be discussed soon? It's going to be a major drag to
work all day in that stink. I've heard the plan is to take them out of the
hallway. Is that true?
Thanks and love!
Gaby

hey all -
After niki et al made a special dump run with a ton of crap that had been
building up in the garbage room, theres still what looks like a useable
bike trailer in the trash room, as well as a bunch of other random stuff in
there too..
If this is y'alls - please remove it? If you know whose that stuff is, let
me know?
Same with the hallway - the hallway needs to be clear as it is a fire
corridor for the building plus an accessibility issue.
Signs have been put up and barring any objection I am planning on removing
all this stuff by next week.
Best,
David
Hello Sudo-ers!
See below for Sudo Room's invoice for March rent at the Omni. Take a look
and let me know if you have any questions. Otherwise, please pay as soon as
you're able.
Thanks and <3,
SP + Finances WG
Below please find a link to Invoice #147.
Amount due: $2000.00 USD
Due by: 2015-03-01

I was the delegate last week, and I'd love to make this week's meeting, but
where I live they've trapped me in my room with mattresses I can't move and
I've told them and they said they'd move them half an hour ago, but they're
still there so I highly doubt I'll make the meeting tonight.
I'd try and convey what I'd say at the meeting, but my brain is instead
just freaking out about being trapped. There were other sudoers at the
delegates meeting.

It's unclear. Maybe. Some of the people with clues and answers would
have to get together and talk about it and decide something for sure.
Somebody should organize a meeting for that. Who's gonna do it?
Hello Sudo-ers!
Just a reminder to please pay the remainder of your invoice for the Omni's
shared expenses in January ($86.47 outstanding) as soon as possible. See
attached for a copy of that invoice.
As well, please let the finances working group know how you would like to
pay for the State Farm insurance the Omni paid on your behalf from January
- July 2015. Monthly installments is fine, just let us know how much you
plan to contribute each month. See the attached invoice for your reference.
Let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks and <3,

Subject: [omni-discuss] Last chance to fill out the survey about Omni
visioning/planning
To: "discuss(a)lists.omnicommons.org" <discuss(a)lists.omnicommons.org>
We have 16 survey <https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BXGHX2N> responses - so
that means, chances are, if you are reading this, you haven't filled it out.
I am giving 1 extra day so we can get a few more people. Please
forward the survey
link <https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BXGHX2N> to people who are active
collective members or frequent space users who aren't on this listserv.
If you don't fill out the survey, there will still be many opportunities to
participate int he visioning and planning, but it would be great to get
started with broad input.
Thanks
Laura

Friends and Omninoms,
Several of us (me, Niki, Nick O, Kevin, Amgo, David K) met last week to
discuss the possibility of engaging in a visioning and planning process for
the Omni Commons. We didn't make any decisions about how to do that, but we
did make a plan to make those decisions in a way that can involve as many
Omni denizens as possible.
Step 1: Here <https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/BXGHX2N> is a link to an
online survey to get the background information we need to make decisions
about the visioning/planning process. The questions are directed at people
who are actively involved with the Omni as organizers, collective members,
and frequent space users. In other words, it is for people who have first
hand experience with how things are going within the Commons. *Please fill
out the survey by 6am, Monday, February 23rd.* Instructions are given at
the beginning. In order to keep the processing of the data manageable,
please answer as concisely as possible. If you know someone who would have
something to contribute to the survey but who isn't on this list, feel free
to forward this email.
Step 2: Once we have collected the survey answers we will convene a
meeting where anyone can come help analyze the data and get some clarity on
what is important to people about the process. We will use this info to
develop a focus question, and narrow down the methods we might use.
Step 3: The Visioning and Planning working group will develop a proposal
for the the process based on the outcomes of Step 2. We will share it
around for feedback and then present it to the delegates meeting for
approval.
Step 4: Carry out the approved plan.
If you have any questions or concerns about this, please send an email, ask
us in person, or come to our meeting. The next one is not scheduled but
will be announced on this list.
Love,
Laura, Niki, Nick O, Kevin, Amgo, David K

Diane contacted me and asked to confirm that we'll be there, and whether
we'll be bringing the 3d printer or not.
The event is saturday and sunday. Is anyone down to do one or both of
these days? I can show up in the afternoon but i can't make it at 11AM on
either day.
Who will bottomline these two days?
They will provide a table and outlet and of course, internet. and a sign
that says "Sudoroom"

Hi all,
I'm not sure who left all the electronics trash in the trash room, but in
matter such as these, my eye turns towards Sudo...
Please know that E-Waste does NOT GO IN THE REGULAR TRASH! In fact, it is
ILLEGAL to dump electronics with regular trash in California, and we can be
fined for doing so.
E-Waste is terrible for the environment, and needs to be recycled
separately. So don't just toss a bunch of junk in the trash room and expect
someone else to deal with it!
I would strongly recommend that Sudo sets up an e-Waste recycling container
somewhere (maybe with a smaller container on the side for batteries) and
then organizes a dropoff whenever it starts filling up. (Also a good place
to scavenge for interesting parts for reuse, naturally!)
The oakland wiki lists a number of places that will recycle or reuse
electronics waste, including cell phones, appliances, and batteries of all
sorts:
