Compost bin without lid near CCL

Whomever had put a large green compost bin without a lid in front of CCL - I moved it to the trash room for now. We really don't want to encourage accumulating too much food debris near our lab, and a compost bin without a lid is a giant no-no, because it becomes a breeding ground for flies that contaminate our experiments... Talking about Steve at Wednesday's meeting again

I have put Steve on the agenda again for this wednesdays meeting. I don't feel like we came to a healthy conclusion at the last formal meeting when the issues were discussed, and i haven't heard anything from the mediation that I was expecting to happen. I have heard that there have been other incidents, and as much as I would like to forget about this whole issue and pretend like there is no problem, it turns out that there are people who have considered (and some who likely have) avoiding sudoroom and/or the Omni entirely because of Steve's behavior, and I think we need to talk about it more and address the issue properly. If there are people at this meeting to talk about the issues then great, if not then maybe we'll just wait for the next incident. Note: I am not trying to get people to align against a person or vilify anyone, but i think it's necessary to address behaviors that are incompatible with the environment and community we want to maintain. -jake

Asking Cheyenne to leave for the night.

Hello all, Happy Sunday, There is a person a person in Sudoroom who is begrudgingly refusing to leave. His name is Cheyenne, whom was working on a model airplane earlier in the night. I informed him that since there are no other members around, and that he would have to leave. He has been drinking quite heavy 3 beers, and stated about 10 into is refusal to leave that he has a friend "up stairs", which is why he doesn't have to leave. I then asked him if that person was here, and he gave me a blank stare. I then informed him again you are able to be here only if members are present, especially at night. I then informed him that If you have a problem bring it up with the community, at that he said go get the community. So I am writing this email. I have also woke this person up here already twos before, and informed him each time this is not a place to sleep. I think his intentions are good, but just need some guidance on how to use the space more effectively. Would somebody please, help moderate with him, as he thinks "I am just fucking with him." Temescal BID Proposal re: Kasper's parcel becoming a pedestrian plaza

Hi friends & comrades: Writing here to inform folks that the Temescal Business Improvement District is currently conducting a campaign to transform the parcel where the former Kasper's Hot Dogs stand is located into a public plaza, cutting off the connection from Shattuck through to 47th St and Telegraph. They are having open meetings re: the proposal on April 3rd, April 18th, and a third date still TBD. I think it's important that longstanding and potentially-impacted communities show up and represent!
