there is a very heavy Korg SG1 keyboard available for free in west oakland.
i'm not bringing it to sudoroom but i wanted to offer it to people on this list
before putting it on craigslist.
I was told it works but i haven't tested it. You should be willing to take it
either way. Here's an article about it from like 1987

If someone is around the space today I could use a quick favor...
check if I left photoresist film in the fridge.
It'll be in a white box, ~2x2x12", blue semi-transparent film inside.
Thanks!
Hello all! I was directed to this listserv via Jenny Ryan (thanks Jenny!).
I am proposing the event detailed below for Saturday, January 12th:
"DUNGEONCRAFT: Painting Minis & Terrain"
Saturday, January 12th, 2019 5pm-9pm (preferred; time slot is flexible)
https://eastbayal.com/about-us/
I'm looking to host a free painting workshop with small crew of 10-15
folks; I'll be teaching them how to paint miniature figurines and miniature
scale terrain for their tabletop games. We're all members of EBAL (East Bay
Adventurers League), a collective of tabletop game players & game masters
that hold free play events for the public all over the Bay Area. There's no
charge for this event at all, we're just looking for some space to spread
out our materials and be able to work through some tutorials together. I'm
happy to discuss supporting Sudo Room by paying a small fee for use of the
space.
Please let me know if you need any further information, thank you!
Happy Holidays,
Meg Burt

Hey everyone-
All this stuff (see photo) appeared in the entrance hall over night. I don’t know how many times we have to tell people not to leave stuff in the entrance hall until it stops happening.
The EB Zine fest is here tomorrow and they need the EH clear. Any information about who left it is appreciated. If you had anything to do with leaving it, come and move it out or into the basement now.

Every now and again woot.com sells the 5th generation Amazon Fire tablet
(from 2015), and a couple of weeks ago it popped up for $16 + taxes/fees.
I bought one and it turns out that you can flash an unofficial older
version of LineageOS, which is still being maintained for this device, and
get a surprisingly good little tablet running 100% FOSS (well except the
bootloader depending on which Fire OS version it has).
I wrote up a short guide in case anyone else is interested:
https://gist.github.com/Juul/3f93655efb8d99b89a29168dd255b5a2
Beware that I haven't verified this procedure on the latest Fire OS
versions since the tablet i got didn't have the latest version and I didn't
want to tempt fate. From forum reports it doesn't seem like woot is
shipping tablets with the latest firmware anyway, but I can't say with any
certainty. If you get one, just make sure you keep the WiFi disabled until
the guide tells you to turn it on, to prevent it from auto-updating.
