I noticed someone swept sudoroom and cleaned up a little bit, and it looks nice. I spent some time tonight moving stuff to the e-waste area and throwing out trash and recycling and stuff. There was a lot of stuff that I was like "how the fuck did this even get inside sudoroom? Someone dumped it on us? I really look forward to the day when Sudoroom has its own door, that can be closed and locked when no members are here. That way, if someone wants to drop off a bunch of garbage that they found down the street in the Creative Re-Use dumpster, they will have to explain it to the member who is watching out for that stuff - and hopefully the member will be discriminating about donations. Don't get me wrong, we get great donations, and they need sorting and it's OK, but we get a lot of junk that doesn't belong, and I can only imagine that it's being dropped off when nobody is here to say "wait what!??! NO!!! take it back to wherever you got it, you can't leave that here." so, what do we think about a door? I guess it's complicated because there are three ways to get into sudoroom. -jake

unwanted giant printer/copier in sudoroom

there is a giant printer or photocopier thing in sudoroom, nobody wants it here, it should go. I think it works, there are instructions on the front for what to do in case the menu comes up in Japanese. If you know anyone who wants it they should take it away, at least out of Sudoroom. It is a: SAVIN 3350 DNP I think you need a pickup truck to move it, but it might fit in the trunk of a large car. It comes with extra drums or ink or whatever. If nobody responds to this message saying they want to take it, i will find someone to get it out of here within the next few days. -jake

Up on the CCL/Sudo roof?

Affordable housing near Sudo Room or Noisebridge?

Hi all, I'm Steve Phillips, co-founder of Santa Barbara Hackerspace <http://sbhackerspace.com/> and Python/Go/JavaScript developer. I gave a talk at DEF CON last year and in a week I'm moving from Santa Barbara to the Bay to be closer to DEF CON/cypherpunk-type people. I checked out Sudo Room a couple days ago, and got to meet Jake/jerkey and a couple other people. Anyone know of any places for <= $1200/month that's close to either Noisebridge or Sudo Room? I've found Hack'n'Sleep and other "hacker houses"/hostels like that, but something less cramped or close to fellow cypherpunks would be better. Any tips you have would be appreciated. sudo finance update - check that you're paying your dues!

Greets all, *Please login to your account at sudoroom.org/humans <http://sudoroom.org/humans> and check that you're paying your dues.* - All recurring stripe plans total $1105/month, with 28 members paying through sudo-humans - We receive approx. $17/wk from Gratipay, or $68/month - We receive approx. $215/month via PayPal, with 4 members paying this way - Assorted cash donations average $50/month, with 2 members paying this way. Total recurring monthly income is *$1528/month *with *34 members *paying. According to sudo-humans, there are 146 'comrades' and 32 'members' - the real number of actual members is somewhere closer to 100. We need to increase our monthly income by *$930* to remain fiscally solvent. For the past couple of months, we have been able to pay our recurring monthly expenses ($2446 for rent/utils and $12 for our Digital Ocean server) thanks to the generosity of a single dedicated members (thank you!!) Folks able and willing to work on other fundraising schemes - grant applications, year-end fundraising letter, selling stuff, fundraising events etc welcome and appreciated. i still think that if sudoroom managed the a/v aspect of event rentals & omni kept the general rent from same, not much would functionally change. all the working groups would be omni's & delegates would still make the decisions. sudoroom would merely handle the a/v side (which we currently contract out to trained members) most of the a/v stuff is sudoroom's anyway several sudo members are willing to start an a/v training program instead of splitting the building in half, we could split rentals...omni gets the space rental/sudo gets the a/v contracts which, if part of an educational program, will be considered charitable. borrow sudo projector

i'm getting free training at owhstudios.tv on video production/broadcast (they're aiming to open Oakand's public access cable channel). one the organizers there asked me if i had a hdmi projector they could borrow for a presentation they're giving next wednesday does anyone object to me taking sudo's white hdmi projector to owhstudios on tuesday & picking it up on thursday? i'll buy a new one (probably led) if anything happens to it additionally, they've shown an interest in helping us setup a video production studio here if anyone is interested

Bella is the one on the right - with the limp right ear Adorable Yorkshire Terrier Available /Adoption <https://lorindistrict.nextdoor.com/news_feed/?post=33609436> Bella will turn 3 years old in spring of 2017. Her life expectancy is 15+ years. She is a pure bread Yorkie with long legs and a floppy right ear. She is house broken. She is so sweet with people and children. Bella weighs about 10 lbs. Eats 1/3 cup "Hunden Flocken” dry dog food mixed with chicken scrap & hot water once daily. Bella is good on a leash when we go for walks and she relieves herself in out back yard. Her poops resemble marbles - firm to pick up. I'm looking for a good local home, so I can stay in touch, help if you want to go out of town with boarding and will offer free biweekly grooming/ bathing if you adopt her. She would be a perfect first dog for a family with small children. She seems fine with cats & chickens. I do think she catches rats in our back yard - but that could be our other dog. I've had dogs my whole life and I'm happy to teach you how to care for a dog if it is your first time. I paid quite a lot for her 1 year ago. There will be a rehoming fee to adopt her. I love Bella and don't want to give her up but her frisky aggression toward our other dog is not conducive to peaceful living. I Have been looking for an experienced animal aggression behaviorist but haven't heard back after leaving lots of messages. My husband and 11 yr old son "had it" a while ago and I have to say I'm at the end of my rope. She is a sweet sweet dog and I wish I could keep her so if you are an expert level dog behaviorist or trainer - your advice is welcome. When I adopted Bella the CL post said "she must be an only dog" and now I understand why. I though I could change her but I made a mistake. Hi I need some help printing out a couple of parts for a syringe pump that allows me to extrude my biopolymers. I tried my hand at it but no luck it was good for the first couple of layers but soon got warped and didn't look right. The pegasus horses is amazing if I could get that kind of quality that would awesome!
