hi all,
we've been having discussions around membership and access. as part of that
discussion, i volunteered to consolidate some of the various ideas for
benefits that we can tie to membership.
check out the suggestions, add your own, keep a discussion going:

we all go through cycles of hackerspace burn out.
would it be nice to have a 2 minute therapy session on dealing with it? my
hackerspace burn out cycles follow my life. It's easy to be cynical and
burned out if you overdo things, or if you don't communicate - i think i'm
back on the up and up though!

Hey I'd like to set a theme for wednesday's meeting
Especially if we have to discuss legalities and board of d. stuff.
I'm going to play MC5 (not too loud) and wear black.
Also as the holidays approach is this going to be the last meeting of the
year for many people?
That means anyone who can should try to show up -- and give hugs!

Hi all,
Sorry for the last minute nature of the scheduling here, but *those on this
list that can come tomorrow at 1PM, please do!* If not, I'm arranging a
second viewing on Thursday 12/19.
Address: 4799 Shattuck Ave, Oakland, CA
94609<https://www.google.com/maps/preview#!q=4799+Shattuck+Avenue%2C+Oakland%2C+C…>(@48th
St., ~9 blocks north of MacArthur BART.)
Those who I know *can't* make Tuesday - that is *Max* (Phat Beets), and
*Margit* (SALTA) - and anyone else who is interested but not yet responded,
please let me know your availability, if you can? If Thursday is not good,
I might be able to do Wednesday too.
Re: Thursday, after 10AM is preferable for the owners, but if it has to be
earlier, I can probably convince him. Alternatively, we can go by in the
Thursday evening too, although if we go Thurs eve we will then have to
relocate the previously scheduled weekly Public School Omni meeting to
somewhere closer by the Omni - perhaps at the Lanesplitter's one block
away? - if that has to happen, I'll let everyone know.
Max Margit and Tooth, feel free to email me directly or it might be easiest
if you guys give me a ring/text so I can lock this second viewing down?
Those expected Tuesday:
Jen Angel
Lauren O'Connor
Kathleen Frumpkin
Nico Peck
Alana Siegel
Lara Durback
Claiborne McDonald
Thursday?
Max?
Margit?
Best,
David / 415-430-8362

hi, anyone at sudoroom who does backend (ruby, etc) interests in
collaboration ? I do front end iOS stuff.
i'm aware of back end services like parse, stackmob, etc.
would be just nice to find people to code with and talk to... i think i'm
dominating the sudoroom github right now so that needs to be remediated
with some cool collars as well!

Hi everyone,
Just a reminder that we'll be having "Today We Learned" open
co-learningtime at Sudo Room
today from 2-5PM.
Come learn and hack with us!
Tiny amount of details at https://sudoroom.org/wiki/Today_We_Learned
Best,
Marina
PS - If this is your first time at Sudo Room, the best way to get in is
from 22nd St (between Broadway and Telegraph) and to take the elevator
upstairs. We'll be there!
Wondering if anyone else is having issues feeling like some of the
servers may not have their best interest in mind. My suspicions
started when seeing NSADutch etc come up there, and now there's a
range of sketchy-ness and badass-ness if you look at the network map
as you browse, especially if you're an activist. I have to continually
be closing out these portals to defeat "InvincibleAI," for example.
Since as I understand it tor is an evolving project, is what's going on:
a) it turns out anyone can make a server... so there's some percentage
of those who will take traffic and data and not have your best
interests in mind?
b) this is fine perfectly safe, none of the data and traffic is stored
on these servers?
c) there's other things with privacy we have to collectively worry
about, like what information we give to companies and their integrity,
d) this is a battle it's evolving and so we don't really know yet?
e) some other hack-option?

Hi Folks,
At the meeting wednesday we talked about the space thing for a short while, and one of the points that was brought up is that we are kind of snowballing toward some larger goal and movement here regardless of what form the nuts and bolts take. I have not been to any of the Omni meetings because of the location, but the more I hear, the more I understand that some kind of serious and I hope irreversible momentum is building. I don't think sudo/BAPS's current location is perfect, but it might be beneficial to try to attract one or more additional group to 2141, maybe in the other small room as a temporary measure. There is some sense that George would be more relaxed if he were able to rent out more of the upstairs space. I'm not betting one way or the other, but that could be a potential fringe benefit secondary to the main goal of building momentum and stabilizing various orgs' membership and resources. I say this not to delay moving to a new space, but hopefully quite the opposite, to bring that point closer by reducing the perceived risk through knocking out some unknowns and generally building rapport between members of the various orgs. I'm sure alot has probably been discussed at the omni meetings, but what are peoples' thoughts?
Happy Friday,
Hol
anyone know how to use the CNC mill? I am thinking of going to sudo
tonight to mill something and it would be easier if someone can show me
how to do it, rather than figuring it out.
maybe i'll just call on the telephone before i go over.
or is there a wiki page for the thing?

Hey are there any other iOS Developers at SudoRoom?
I would like to collaborate with you -- interested in a project involving
SudoSquare, putting stuff on github, and making a fix it app
Also any back end people interested, give me a ring.
I'm having some difficulty working around oauth1 rest apis for services
that don't have iOS SDKs... would love to jam with someone in person.
