I almost missed this email because most of the messages received on it are
spam, but it looks like a production company is interested in using the
space as a location for an interview with former google engineer Blake
Lemoine.
You can see my response below. I can’t see any reason why we wouldn’t be
able to accommodate this request. I also asked if they could check if Blake
wanted to hang around and chat with members. If they decide to go forward I
suggest that we request a voluntary donation in line with typical space
rental fees. Is anyone else interested in possibly meeting with Blake?

Hi there,
we filmed at the counterculture lab a few years ago with Patrik and Josiah
for German public broadcasting cultural TV 3sat (

time.
Now we’re working on a documentary about the developments in AI. I’m
trying to organize an interview with Google engineer Blake Lemoine. He’s
the one who thinks Googles AI has become sentient. I’d like to do the
interview via Skype while I am in Germany and he is in the US. Cameramen
filming on both ends.
Is there a chance for this interview to happen in your sudo-house in
Oakland? It would just be two people: Blake and the camera operator.
The date is set for next Tuesday morning, the 2nd of August at 10:30 am and
won’t take longer than an hour.

Hey everyone!
I have an ornate lamp, where the lights are all inside glass flowers, and a
few of them broke. I'd like to replace them by making a silicone mold of
one of the intact ones and then casting it in resin.
Making the mold seems straightforward, but I've never actually cast resin
before, and I'm looking for advice on what resin to use. The bulbs are
halogen bulbs, so they get fairly hot, and the lamps are pretty close. I'm
guessing that if the resin can withstand 200 F they should be fine.
Does anyone know whether this is feasible? Can anyone recommend a resin
that is clearish and can withstand moderately high heat for long periods of
time?
