Anyone know how easy it is to get up on the roof of the Bocce Ball court? There's some folks who would like to shoot some interviews in CCL next Wednesday morning, but they would like to be able to block out some of the light through the skylights. Thanks! Patrik

Affordable housing near Sudo Room or Noisebridge?

by Steve Phillips

Hi all, I'm Steve Phillips, co-founder of Santa Barbara Hackerspace <http://sbhackerspace.com/> and Python/Go/JavaScript developer. I gave a talk at DEF CON last year and in a week I'm moving from Santa Barbara to the Bay to be closer to DEF CON/cypherpunk-type people. I checked out Sudo Room a couple days ago, and got to meet Jake/jerkey and a couple other people. Anyone know of any places for <= $1200/month that's close to either Noisebridge or Sudo Room? I've found Hack'n'Sleep and other "hacker houses"/hostels like that, but something less cramped or close to fellow cypherpunks would be better. Any tips you have would be appreciated. Thanks, and I'll see you all soon! --Steve P.S. Greets all, *Please login to your account at sudoroom.org/humans <http://sudoroom.org/humans> and check that you're paying your dues.* - All recurring stripe plans total $1105/month, with 28 members paying through sudo-humans - We receive approx. $17/wk from Gratipay, or $68/month - We receive approx. $215/month via PayPal, with 4 members paying this way - Assorted cash donations average $50/month, with 2 members paying this way. Total recurring monthly income is *$1528/month *with *34 members *paying. According to sudo-humans, there are 146 'comrades' and 32 'members' - the real number of actual members is somewhere closer to 100. We need to increase our monthly income by *$930* to remain fiscally solvent. For the past couple of months, we have been able to pay our recurring monthly expenses ($2446 for rent/utils and $12 for our Digital Ocean server) thanks to the generosity of a single dedicated members (thank you!!) Folks able and willing to work on other fundraising schemes - grant applications, year-end fundraising letter, selling stuff, fundraising events etc welcome and appreciated. We could also very much benefit from more folks contributing to sudo-humans. Fwd: [dorkbotsf-blabber] kitLAB needs your vintage e-waste

by Patrik D'haeseleer

---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: North Pitney <northp(a)mac.com> Date: Mon, Oct 17, 2016 at 12:32 PM Subject: [dorkbotsf-blabber] kitLAB needs your vintage e-waste To: dorkbotsf-blabber(a)googlegroups.com Cc: erin elliott <erin(a)museumcuriosa.com> I know some of you are hoarding awesome semi working devices and I want to help you find their final resting place this Sunday. The kitLAB maker space (opening this winter) is hosting a booth at the Maker Faire in Oakland this Sunday and we’ll be decommissioning devices as teaching aids and in preparation for the artist, Erin Elliott's repurposing demo . I’m all set on printers and computers but I could make great use of any pre-70’s devices with lots of small parts and buttons. Typewriters, radios, office machines, testing equipment, small musical instruments... If you or anyone you know has something you think would be happy being gutted for art and education, please email or txt me an image or description and we’ll make a plan. -North (510)703-8069 north(a)kitlab.org my Project: kitLAB.org <http://www.kitlab.org/> Artist’s other works: museumcuriosa.com <http://museumcuriosa.com/> event: eastbay.makerfaire.com <http://eastbay.makerfaire.com/2016makers/> -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "dorkbotSF-blabber" group.
