Possible to set up a server to host Omni QB?

Hey friends, The Finance WG is weighing the pros and cons of using Quickbooks Online vs. a hosted version of regular Quickbooks and it's looking like we'd be best served by using a hosted version which the Finance WG can remote into. I have no idea what this actually means in terms of cost or setup and was wondering if any of you have thoughts. If it's too much trouble to do ourselves, we can pay a service to host QB for us for the time being but that can begin to get a little pricey. Ideas? Niki

Omni Network Wiring

Sierk (a potential new member) and I came to the omni to finish the run that somebody started at the basement, but walking around we saw that there are more things pending. I am planning to be here for a couple of hrs more or less. Anyhow, I started a list of things to do ( https://pad.riseup.net/p/omniwiring ), in case someone would like to add more items or see what is pending: OMNI NETWORK WIRING - LIST TO DO June 27, 2015 PENDING RUNS: * From the computers by the kitchen to the Server Area * From Server area to Basement TERMINATIONS: * Cable that come from the door at the corner to the computers in the second floor. OLD RUNS THAT NEED TO BE RE-DONE: * The phone line (I am 50% guilty of this lousy run) needs to redone at least from the CCL to Server room. * A white cable comes from the basement and goes under the door to the Server area. NOTE: people know that there is a 16 port switch under the 3D printers. This is a multi-sheet spreadsheet doc listing all the tasks we need to complete before we can pass our inspections - what David put together, but split up by room. These sheets are also physically printed and taped up in the following areas: * La Commune: Next to ADA bathroom * Ballroom: Next to chandelier lights * Ticket Booth Room: On the door * Crow's Nest: on the inner OpAl door to the crow's nest * Sudo / CCL: On the west side of the yellow locker in the middle of the room * Rise Above: To the left of the sliding doors * Basement: Below the lights to the basement * TIL: Above the little mailbox outside the door to the office * Cafe Balcony: On the eastern refrigerator * Disco Room: Below the lights to the room Please do take on a project if you meet the requisite skill level, then cross off things once complete. Even better, send an update to building(a)lists.omnicommons.org - we meet every Monday at 8pm. We are particularly in need of folks experienced with carpentry and electrical.
