Anyone interested in testifying at court about how IP addresses work? It's
for a good cause/you'll make a couple hundred bucks in the process. If so,
get in touch with Kate Raven <raven.kate(a)gmail.com>. She's a public
attorney, and you'll find her values are pretty closely aligned with those
at Sudo.

Null,
Thanks for your help. Basically, I need someone who code testify as an
"expert" in a probation violation hearing next tuesday. It should be an
interesting experience for whoever does it and I should be able to pay a
couple hundred bucks. Basically, the "expert" just needs to have some
credentials in computer stuff above that of a lay person (I need them to be
able to explain to the court what an IP address is, what an IP login is,
and some stuff around this.) If anyone is interested, I can explain more
but it is a really worthwhile case.

Can any one say if membership or access to SudoRoom comes with a donation to the campaign. And if so, what level of donation is required?
A friend asked me, "Will I get a membership to use their tool shop if I donate?”.
Thoughts? I don’t see why this couldn’t be incorporated somehow.

hey folks,
if you have any events in may that you'd like included in the directory of
east bay sharefest events, please contact syra (info below).
also, i'm not on the omni list, but would appreciate it if someone would
forward this to the omni as i'm sure that there are many more events that
other omni folks might want to have included.
best,

Subject: ShareFest Listing?
To: Marina Kukso <marina.kukso(a)gmail.com>
Hi Marina,
Do you have events in May to list with East Bay ShareFest this year?
Deadline for print is April 14th.
http://eastbaysharefest.weebly.com/submit-event.html
Local sharing directory listings also (no deadlines):
http://eastbaysharefest.weebly.com/add-directory-listing.html
Check out our spanky new site. Still a work in progress =)
Let me know if you have questions. Hoping you are well and looking forward
to gathering again for some creative fun!
Much love,
Syra

>From the Oakland Tribune this morning:
"
The Hacker, who can only remember their identify by a bracelet reading
"m3g4h347", descended from the old Sudo Room roof, to an empty common space
wondering were every was.
"I'd just gone upstairs for a nap before the next Bay Area public school
Latin Catechism, and the next thing I knew everybody was gone," said the
extremely sunburned interviewee. Popping open their ThinkPad, and seeing
their 3,689 unread emails on the sudo-discuss list, they realized something
was very, very wrong. "I saw a lot of mentions of 'the Omni', but I just
took that to be some sort of spiritual outgrowth of the Kopimists. You
know, like 'we've transcended', 'we're going to that great data-center in
the sky', 'we're going to the Omni'. I think I saw reference to 'the Omni'
in the 1995 classic Hackers, I'm pretty sure Angelina mentions it once in
there."
Speculating on what could have caused such a slumber, m3g4h347 seems to
think some science went awry. "Last thing I know I was cleaning some sort
of neon substance off the sudoshrooms, I did feel a bit lightheaded from
the spore intake, that's why I went to the roof in the first place." After
having tripped out a bit, the hacker was trapped in a dream/nightmare of
answering the intercom and dealing with the landlord, but eventually
reawoke almost a year later when they were hit with a bag of recycling that
was flung from the lower level.
M3g4h347 will rejoin next meeting on a fact finding mission to determine
just who exactly neglected their mycological duties for so long, and to
update openSSL on their server having only just now found out about
heartbleed. "How did you let things get so bad in my absence?"
"

I'm thinking maybe deposit equal amounts of this pile of trash (passive
aggressively dumped in from of a "No Trash Here Plz" sign!) in the middle
of each room of the building?
Seriously though - does anyone have any thoughts as to what to do about
this situation? I know I'm not the only person who has dealt with the trash
but seeing this only weeks after personally making a huge dump run puts me
right on the very border of freak out city.
I'm not making another dump run!!
Help!!

Hi everyone,
I'm not sure who is hanging out this afternoon, but I've invited Ilias to
drop by Omni and meet some SudoRoom, CCL, and other commons members.
Ilias is a student in Greece, visiting California to check out various
maker and hacker spaces. He's hoping to create a space for fabrication and
education for people of all ages. He's visited a whole lot of other
spaces, including Noisebridge, Ace Monster Toys and even the LA Makerspace.
If someone is around to give him a tour, or explain what's going on, it
would be great.
Cheers,
Anca.
