This ties into the paper that Jenny posted recently as well. Strong,
benevolent personalities are going to be needed to keep things moving
forward just as much as stubborn, nitpicky, careful readers of contracts.

There's also building infrastructure in the
space, creating/making
awesome
things, giving tours, managing the landlord
situation, managing the trash
(thanks david k!), leading classes/workshops/meetups, CLEANING and
BEAUTIFYING the space [the move to colorful late-night mood lighting the
other week was especially clutch].
