I just went to lake merritt after a class nearby. Man the lake stinks! No
sight of dead fish anymore, but the smell of death everywhere really brings
the reality home. I used to work in a cannery in Alaska. At one point
multiple tonnes worth of crates of fish could not be processed fast enough
and rotted. Lake Merritt smells much stronger than what I smelled at the
cannery.
