This brings my heart so much joy reading about this (as I’m just getting
into retro analog interests. Typewriters, Sewing Machines, etc).

i'm so glad you finally found it! now follow the

years ago Robb set up an asterisk server and we started setting up a
building-wide VOIP phone network. We got three phones working (the
payphone
outside, the phone in sudoroom and one in CCL) but eventually it decayed
back
into nonexistence. I know you all think i'm a superhacker but i have been
unable to get asterisk to work ever, even though i have a ton of VOIP
phones
that i would love to setup with it. This is me crying out for help.
I will hook up the black rotary phone in the trash room as soon as I can,
and
when it rings you better answer.

So here's a mystery for all you
techno-sleuths and scavenger hunt fans: I
just discovered a wall-mounted, old school rotary phone, in a hidden
location in the Omni trash room!
I'm not going to reveal the exact location so as not to deprive you of
the
joy of discovering it yourself.
* Does the phone still work?
* What is it connected to? Hotline to the FBI for mob informers?
* What might have been the history of that phone? Did the current trash
room have a different use that might explain the need for a phone there?
* Is there a link to the doorless room in the basement, or the zombie
apocalypse emergency supply closet?
Sooo many questions...
