I can burn a bunch of CDs/DVDs of the latest distros and bring a USB DVD
reader to install. I'll definitely be down to help people install Linux
and get acquainted with some command-line basics. Excellent!!!

I can pitch in to that -- I wouldn't dread it
at all! Only thing is, if
it happens on a Saturday, I'll have to bring Calvin along, which means it
would be helpful to have another kid or 2 there (Ray?) to play with!
