Yar,
Should I channel feedback to you or to Maryanna, or both?
Sounds great, I also noticed that a part of the wire mesh that isolates a
fan in the Ballroom from the interior of the building was dislodged during
the tile-removal process. Since John already plans to have some work done
on the roof, is it possible to have someone join in a walk-through to:
(a) see if there are any other issues with the roof
(b) possibly repair the mesh from outside (from the roof-side temporarily
remove fan, fix mesh, replace fan) instead of re-erecting scaffolding to
fix it from the ballroom interior
(c) also create and install a debris-catch (e.g. some bent wire mesh) to
cover the roof gutter drain (as recommended in our initial building
inspection some time ago), unless this was already done.

We should definitely check on what the general plan is
for ventilation in
the room - it does get warm in there in the summer.
As for fume hoods - I'm not sure the existing fans were appropriate for
that anyway. I guess we could ask them to provide a premade opening in two
of the skylights on either end of the hall, that we can stick a went
through when we're ready to do so.

is there some way we can request that the fans remain there somehow? or
some way to ventilate air out of the room? I think this is really
important.

John the landlord just came through Sudo & CCL with a couple roofing
contractors. He is going to pay to replace all the skylights in CCL &
Sudo next week. We have six. They expect to replace two per day on
Tuesday (23), Wednesday (24) and Thursday (25), moving from north to
south. Work may extend into Friday. They are requesting that we clear
the areas underneath so they can lay tarps and avoid
death/destruction/mayhem. So that means:
On Tuesday, CCL should push stuff towards Sudo
On Wednesday, CCL & Sudo should clear stuff from the middle
On Thursday, Sudo should push stuff towards CCL
We don't have to move everything, they can lay tarps over things and
figure out how to work around, but we will certainly want to move some
stuff.
The new skylights won't be bubbles, but will be flat safety glass. A
contractor told me "a person could walk on one". So this will be great
once we get roof access. Also if we ever see rain again.
