You could spend a couple hundred on a slide/film scanner. I assume that was meant to read "old school" slides - not slides of stool samples? Most "old school" film processing centers have slide scanning services. I also have a Nikon Coolscan IV. Current versions of Vuescan software will drive it and make beautiful scans on any modern OS. I don't have the stack loader so you need to sit there and pull out the old slide and push in a new one every few minutes.
