Hi, I hope this message is OK for the list -- I feel there's probably a lot of relevant knowledge in this community. I have a friend -- not a close friend, but somebody I care about and trust -- who is needing to leave her home due to a volatile situation with her boyfriend, very suddenly. She is OK for tonight, but she said she has contacted some shelters and has been put on a wait list, and is not sure what she can expect. If anybody knows of good resources, or just has any words of advice, please send them to me off list. I don't have much experience with something like this -- I think she is very isolated here, her family is very far away, and I want to at least point her in a good direction.
