Hi all, in case you haven't heard -- Wikipedia is celebrating its 15th
birthday this week, and we're celebrating Saturday!
We'll have several presentations throughout the afternoon, ranging from the
"weird old days" of early Wikipedia, to gender bias in the encyclopedia's
content. I will be hosting a panel with various perspectives on the
significance of Wikipedia from a journalist, an education specialist, and a
social justice activist. I've posted interviews
<https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLnDuxSh4Rp5gsvae2Iegcom5-fzK6nk0d> with
the panelists.
If you are curious about, a fan of, or a contributor to Wikipedia, I urge
you to join in!
The event is free, but advance registration is required -- and it's almost
full, so sign up ASAP if you want to join! *Learn more here
