Hi All! I'm in a rental house and looking for others to share it with! I've been there a year, everyone but me and two canine friends moved out in March sudo: since housing-list exists I will only do this to discuss once! -------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------- "Rooms available in large 3-br house.@98th & MacArthur, near the zoo. Big rooms, fresh carpet, 1 full bath (shared), plenty of storage space on the main level and in the basement. Large living room and kitchen (great for cooking). Fireplace and big windows. Large yard, garden bed, birds all day, lots of sun. Disposal, newer stove, washer, sun-drying lines, super-fast wifi (no tv in common rooms) Not ADA accessible. 1-car shared garage Ample, safe street parking in front of the house. Bus-stop on the corner, Foods Co down the street. The People: Nice block and friendly neighbors. Communication counts. Permanent house-mate is a physical wellness/yoga teacher and alternative mental health student ~~Looking for roommates who: enjoy living with dogs (2 canine roommates reside) recycle, reuse & reduce use, contribute to common needs/chores and above all respect each other Your waking hours, personal preferences and choices are not to be judged. Greenhouse

~~DEEP FLUSH 2015~~

ATTENTION ALL SUDOERS: We are planning a deep cleaning/purging of all unnecessary clutter! Who: Everyone and you! When:* Mar 14-15 (Sat & Sun) @ 10am - 10pm* Where: Sudo Room in Omni Commons, 4799 Shattuck, Oakland, CA 94609 *Who says what's trash and what's worth keeping?* This will be up to the cleaning crew's judgement unless claimed and safeguarded IN PERSON (no hordes of emails saying "hey I've got a thing on this one shelf!"; though availability and mobility will obviously be considered). SO... be sure to gather any personal items before the flush! And/or be present during the flush to have a say in what gets tossed and what stays. *When is this happening?* March 14-15. We will begin assembling a 'To Be Flushed' pile on Saturday and it should ideally be disposed of on Sunday afternoon. *But I don't have anywhere to put all of my things!* sudo room is not a storage facility! Personal storage space is addressed via lockers in the back of the space. Remember that sudo room's official stance is that: "Note: no personal property should be stored in sudo room unless a system for personal storage can be provided by sudo room." https://sudoroom.org/wiki/Articles_of_Association#Section_2.3_Benefits meaning you need to label your things for use, use a locker, or accept that your personal belongings may be hacked or removed without notice. *Why are we throwing away such perfectly hackable things?* While many things are useful, let's get beyond the mentality that "I could totally use this one thing in this one instance!" when the reality is this thing doesn't get touched for months, if ever. My friend, Daniel Roesler(Daniel Roesler <diafygi(a)gmail.com>), has a startup in the SfunCube solar accelerator, and he mentioned a contest that SfunCube is hosting: http://www.thinfilmsolarawards.com/ Apparently, China's Hanergy bought a US thin film solar company and are now throwing $600k in cash prizes out there for concept products using thin film solar. SfunCube is handling the US promotion of the contest, but it's been pretty low key so far for how much money it's giving out. Fax working? Phone line hooked up?

Wondering if we have a separate phone line for faxes in sudo room? And or if we even have a phone line that's been tested with the fax machine(s)? Alternately, is there a functional fax system from anywhere else in omni? Thanks Cere
