Legal Observer Training scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 4th 11am-1pm in the ballroom

Hey all, I've been talking with EmilyRose Johns from the SF National Lawyers Guild recently, and she's agreed to facilitate a Legal Observers Training at the Omni next Sunday, Dec 4th from 11am-1pm. Modular Shelf for a Maker

Hi Makerspace First of all I really respect what you are doing. I think its a great project and very worthwhile teaching classes and providing resources for people to make stuff! I made a modular shelf and was wondering if you would be interested in making it for your space. I provide the plastic parts and give a cutting guide for you to take to your local wood merchants. So it is a maker product I think. The connector piece was designed on a 3d printer and then moulded. I've attached some pics for you to consider if it would make a useful addition to your space. seeking roommate in west oakland

as a member of this community i hereby post the following: seeking a housemate to fill a bedroom of about 140 square feet, on the ground floor of a duplex in west oakland, starting on December 1st. the monthly rent is $900 due to circumstances beyond my control. myself and the other two housemates are paying more for larger and less for smaller rooms, as is fair. I will try to get you onto the lease so you have full tenants' rights. The house is in good condition, has a large common room, and clothes washer/dryer. 1.2 miles from MacArthur BART station it has a nice backyard which is shared with the upstairs apartment, which is used as AirBNB by the capitalist landlord, but it's nice because it means that most of the time it's empty. Folks, It just hit me that I should have shared this on the list a long time ago: There is a recruiter looking (or was on Nov 3) for a System Administrator for College of Marin. Here is the quote of the email I got: "Systems Administrator for a 6 month contract to hire opportunity. Hourly rate is $45/hr. for the contract phase, and upon conversion to FTE, salary would be $80k + full comp. package. Help moving small fridge to CCL?

Anyone have a van, pickup truck, or even a large hatchback available, to help me transport a 1/2 size fridge from South SF to CCL? I bought an undercounter lab fridge on a biotech auction last week (to replace the one in the BSL2 lab that decided it would rather be a freezer), but now I need to go pick it up by the 17th. I could rent a uHaul, but with mileage that would cost more than the fridge did in the first place... Anyone available today, Wed. or Thu? Thanks! Patrik

'emergency' mtg tonite re: Omni & protests, 7pm entrance hall

hi all, ok not really an 'emergency' unless you count the forthcoming four-year-long state of emergency we're entering into post-Trump - I would like to get together with anyone who is feeling the rage and despair against the election outcome, to brainstorm how Omni can best provide shelter, workspace and solidarity to those presently engaged in the protests against the insanity of recent events which has ignited the bay area. This might mean: - Making a flyer encouraging activists to use omni for meetings, going to protests, and handing them out? - Organizing banner-making sessions, weekly assemblies, etc? - protest tactics, info sessions? - generally getting the word out that omni can serve as a site of interconnection and possible collaboration for various groups of activists and activated friend groups, etc - what can member groups supply the effort..? Ideas: Sudo - (just riffing here): -- disseminate peoplesopen.net to support protests? -- fab some drones? BAPS: -- classes on community, solidarity, resistance, political philosophy meeting praxis others: ? I am aware of other calls to action and convergences elsewhere, but I figure we as the omni community at large should also figure out how we might best make available our resources to the mass effort. Niki and I will be hosting, we will try to bring some yummy food -- and super late notice I realize but we figured hell, no time like the present please come if you can :) and pass the word on - love & solidarity David
