I see plenty of consensus here.
1) We all recognize that there is an excess of materials that need to be
moved out.
2) We all recognize that the current donation policy isn't selective enough
to prevent clutter accumulation.
3) All solutions will require some amount of human labor, and the amount of
human labor available will influence what solutions are feasible.
First, I propose we start by placing a hold on new donations until we have
a better handle on the situation.
Second: let's make this a real-time discussion. Can we talk about this on
Monday or Tuesday or Wednesday at 8:30 PM? I think we should continue
discussing over email, but I think a live meeting would help us plan how to
get control of the current level of clutter and revise the donation policy
to rectify the issue going forward.
Also, I really appreciate all the effort so many of you have been putting
in. Jake, Yar, Jenny, and Joule, you've each clearly done a lot on this
issue and I want to thank you for that.

the real issue is that we've faced a lack of

A lack of contributing effort.
it requires human labor
come and get involved, spend time understanding what we have and why,
and make an
impact
Jake! Please hear yourself and think about what you're saying! "Come
join Sudoroom so we can set you to work cleaning up after a bunch of
manchildren" is a doomed sales pitch. Why would anybody take that
job??? This is magical thinking of the worst kind. It makes me sorry
that I ever washed a single dish back when we had a kitchen sink that
anybody wanted to use. The problem is an entrenched culture that seems
to require constant invisible labor from magic pixie unicorns, not the
lack of said unicorns. Good fucking lord.
