a fire extinguisher was discharged in the basement this evening around 6pm.
the boys from down the street were in the ballroom with the women making
banners & i told the boys to leave.
the women making banners thought that i should have found a better solution
that kicking them out.
the front door was propped open & nobody was watching it.

Is the extinguisher still there?
I will contact the fire extinguisher guy and cc the building list.

How sure are you that the kids did it? I met them running around the
neighborhood last night and talked to them a bit. I've engaged with them
before around door access. If you can tell me they definitely did this then
I will talk to them next time I see them.
The annoying thing is that I can't say "you should come and engage with us
in these ways" instead because USA!!1 and we can't have < 18s in the space
like they're some sort of inferior species.

& yes, i believe it's still there. additionally, i had to ask a woman & two
men to leave the building last night who were holed up in the shower room.
i will not be doing so, again, in the near future

i made a laminated sign that sez:
*THIS DOOR MUST BE*
*CLOSED*
*AT ALL TIMES*
*UNLESS MONITORED*
..and mounted it with gaffer's tape on the main door.
cc'ing commons re: keeping the door closed or elsewise monitored during
events. It's a decent gig for an omni event organizer, too, and perhaps we
should consider allocating some percentage of the space rental fee to the
booking/commons & a/v peeps, who can also choose to donate / allocate their
fee to Omni?
the door was also most likely propped today for the ccl meetup. cc'ing ccl
as well. does the payphone still route to a phone in ccl? should sudo
attempt to focus some energies on improving he comms/access to ccl/sudo?
what is most needed?

Robb - Personally, I greatly appreciate your efforts at keeping the Omni
safe and sane!
What rules we have are there for a very good reason - like to keep us all
from getting shut down for habitation! But if nobody actually bothers to
hold folks to those rules, we'll all be worse off.
It's a fact of life that the complainers will always have the loudest
voice. Just know that there are a lot of people who do appreciate your
efforts!
