would not Silicone Caulk make an ok adhesive? mechanically pressing
 against
the glass with an open-cell foam pad seems smart though to provide some
insulation on the bottom of the heater anyway.

Nope, just finding a good adhesive for
reattaching it is hard. I ended up
just using an open cell foam pad to push the header on the glass
 mechanically.
Only advice is to not be too aggressive and let the glue take its time to
release. Doingbot while warm would help.

Cool! Hey is there any reason why I can't do that end then just flip the
glass, clean it and re-attach the heating pad on the bottom?
Any tips on getting the heating pad off?
