Is anyone else on the social network Diaspora?
As we recall, this was developed at Noisebridge and was indirectly involved
in another unfortunate suicide =(
I'd like to get going on this social network again. If you are interested

New subject: Is anyone else on Diaspora (social network)? I am romyilano
I never heard that it started to Noisebridge, though it looks like there
were some mailing list messages calling for a hack session, since it's an
open source project. As I understand it was started by a handful of college
kids looking to try out an idea over a summer. They asked for $10,000 in
funding on Kickstarter and got $200,000. The rest is history.

well making our own diaspora instance requires back end know-how... i don't
have that. anyone willing to do it?
is it very easy to change pods ?
my biggest problem has been getting acquaintances and friends to join
diaspora. I don't think it's that hard. they just don't want to for some
reason.

all rails. does spinach know if there are any servers available? let's get

Anyone messed with Restroshare? Ive installed but never bothered searching
for peers. Id be interested in connecting with folks if they hit me up in
person when Im physically around. Or if a friend vouched for them.

I just mean, how do we get many of our normal folks to use diaspora instead
of commercially private social media. It's almost impossible to reach some
folks nowadays by email
it's not that hard to join diaspora - just go to joindiaspora.com
it's nice, i started having conversations with noisebridge folks on
diaspora lately. it still feels very empty out there!
