It sounds awesome. I have concerns that it could be a time sink, though. If
you’re working on it I’d love to follow along and join in from time to
time, although I can’t commit to be a meaningful contributor.

we replaced the battery in the robot arm (behind the connectors in the
base,
this battery is to preserve memory in the position encoders) and the
battery in
the computer cabinet (to preserve its configuration memory and "disk" when
it's off)
but a couple of the position encoders on the arm are not happy and it's
doing
