Hey Guys, Just a word of caution from a Bio/Clinical guy (which I'm sure most of you are aware of but I just thought I'd bring it up). We have to be really careful with X-ray's and if/when they're used in Sudo room as it can be carcinogenic (ionizing radiation causes DNA damage with potential to cause cancer). Radiation sources can also penetrate walls, so it could have potential outside of the confines of sudoroom. If the machine is held in Sudo room we should also clearly mark it and let everyone know if/when it's activated! I'm all in favor of avoiding exposure to x-rays. I'd say this thing probably is never going to work, and might make an interesting art project or something. If people are serious about attempting to make it work as an x-ray source, there would need to be a clear plan about how people would be protected from it. And I suspect that the time while the fix is being attempted, that is the most likely time to have accidental exposure to x-rays, so protection would need to come first. Probably requires building some sort of lead lined enclosure around the thing with safety interlocks to make sure the door is closed before it can turn on, and that would probably be pretty expensive.
