December 10th 2014 is Bassel Khartabil's 1000th day in prison in Syria.
A self taught programmer and open source enthusiast, he started a hacker
space in Damascus and helped to found Creative Commons Syria. He was
working to empower his community in Syria through the ethos of the open
community and making culture, and in light of this, was arrested.
We are holding a letter-writing event for Bassel to mark his 1000th day,
call for his release, show our support, and keep his story alive.
Are you out of practice with writing letters? Don't worry, we can help.
In addition to helping you brainstorm, we'll have pre-written letters to
sign, as well as templates to get you started if you need. All are
welcome to drop in for any portion of the event.
We'll provide envelopes, postage stamps, pens and paper, food and
beverages, although you are welcome to bring any of these items to share!
**Please bring a laptop if you prefer to type your letters**
Event details::
Place: Noisebridge Hackatorium (the tables in the main space)

Hey all,
I just registered a BACH assembly at 31C3 for folks to hang out at. It's
on the wiki: https://events.ccc.de/congress/2014/wiki/Assembly:BACH
If you're bringing neat things and want a space to show them off then
feel free to add them to the page.

Orange road bike stolen outside of omni - says falcon on it. Has a basket and white handlebar tape. If anyone sees it, plz let me know, it is my friend's bike!
My number is 6096513306
$99:
http://store.apple.com/us/product/MB571Z/A/mini-displayport-to-dual-link-dv…
Plugging directly into a 'normal' DVI adapter ie single-link DVI will not
support the display's native resolution of 2560x1600. Single-link adapters
will instead deliver a maximum of half the supported resolution, 1280x800.
Single-link adapters include the typical Apple-style DVI>MiniDP adapter
dongle most are used to using.. See:
http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201927
So if anyone feels like giving the video group a christmas present of this
pricey adapter cable, that'd be really great! It would be kept with the
monitor.
Best,
David
The amazing human Erik Strals, of Immersio, 3D-scanned the ballroom & Sudo
the other night.
It took him quite a long time and was a labor of love. The results are in
and they are SO cool.
I love this human!
He even offered to come back and help do more of the building! yay! Yippee!
This will be so useful for our architectural / permit work especially too!
So great -
Thank you Eriks!!

them! And hopefully you guys find uses for it. Please let me know if you do
find uses.*
*Also, it would be nice to get some recognition ;) *
*3) Otherwise, I can do some more scans in the future, probably next month
around the same time.*
*4) Please also forward this to Mark (don't remember last name, he had a
beard), who was the first person I coordinated with within Sudo Room.*

Hi fellow sudoers,
We'll be hosting a private event for members of the Real Vegan Cheese team
and some of our IndieGogo donors in CCL this evening, starting at 7pm.
We'll be doing a tasting of some existing vegan cheeses (the nut and
soy-based varieties). I would prefer not to have random walk-ins during the
event, but I expect there may be some leftover cheeses and beers to taste
afterwards.
Thanks!
Patrik

It would take some work to get me to trust a scheme like this... and
it would create social pressure to accept whatever results...

The landlord had a video surveillance system, so it was moot.

Yes, securing their books after-hours.
