We had something wonderful going with Sudo Kids. iirc, people from Hayward were actually driving up here for it. I hope very much that we can reboot this at our new space. Vicky has been talking to the OUSD after school program. Oakland International school is a few blocks from the omni. I was going to do another library teenzone event this month but burned out with Omni stuff. TBA. With respect to the diversity of human kinship structure, I would much prefer to frame this as accessibility for all ages, rather than "families vs singles".

Techonomy Bio conference today - special rate for biohackers/hackers

sudo door stepper motor failure

I got a report that the sudo door stepper motor is making noises but not turning anything. Sounds like a bad connection somewhere. I'm out of town for a bit. Maybe someone else can take a look at it? -- marc/juul

Power adapter

I left my power adapter on the main table inside sudoroom. Can someone who is there stash it somewhere (and let me know where) so I can pick it up in the morning? It's a small hp laptop adapter. Thanks!

In this last East bay express there was an article "Hacking local in Hayward" about a new hackerspaces Hayhackers. The article emphasizes their young education aspects. Then a quote from Christina Depulta on other East bay hackerspaces : "they're either young singles or techies and software engineers or mothers with children. We wanted to have a space for everybody. " Do you think this is a valid rubric for a hackerspace's demographic, and does sudo fit into one category? I wonder if having that kind of all inclusive space is even a fantasy holy grail?
