April invoices !

Hi friends, Hopefully some of you have received invoices for April rent and March shared expenses at the Omni. You may have noticed that we've switched our invoicing software over to Quickbooks. Their credit card processing fees are much lower than Wave's (our previous software), so we're able to save the Omni a little bit of $$. Yay! Anyone else notice that the NASDAQ Composite Index has about reached the nominal peak of the dotcom boom? Suggestions?

I'm thinking maybe deposit equal amounts of this pile of trash (passive aggressively dumped in from of a "No Trash Here Plz" sign!) in the middle of each room of the building? Seriously though - does anyone have any thoughts as to what to do about this situation? I know I'm not the only person who has dealt with the trash but seeing this only weeks after personally making a huge dump run puts me right on the very border of freak out city. please leave orange Rigid shopvac permanently under Omni chop/rip saw

Hello all, After many months, I found my long-lost shopvac the other day (large orange tubby-looking 'Rigid' brand) - it seemed to have re-emerged with the sudo cleanup.. very happy about that. I put a new filter in and installed it back under the chop saw. Please all, leave it there and do not remove it - it is set up this way to inhale the dust from the saw so there is less mess and the air remains healthier. Help needed to retrieve lab equipment for CCL

Hi all, Bio-Link Depot is currently holding a FREE Biosafety Cabinet for us, that would be perfect to start up CCL's BSL-2 lab room. That means we'd be able to work with human cell lines and samples, and to isolate microorganisms with interesting properties (such as bioluminescent bacteria from squid skin, or oil degrading bacteria from soil). someone is stealing things at sudoroom / the omni

the other day i noticed a bunch of copper wires I had near the robot were gone. I thought it was strange that they were all taken. today Rob mentioned that someone has taken all the copper windings off of his project. He also says that a week ago, his phone was stolen from where it was with his shirt, and his shirt was found outside. Moved microwave, toasters back upstairs

Hi all, I moved the microwave, toaster, and toaster oven out of CCL and back upstairs. Keeping our lab clean enough to do real work is hard enough as it is without having kitchen appliances all over the place. (Someone had also moved the microwave into the wetlab part of CCL, which is most definitely NOT ok.) As an example project, we'll be creating a TV-B-Gone remote control out of an Arduino you can take home with you. Summary: What: Arduino workshop for total newbies, using TV-B-Gone remote controls as an intro example project When: 1:00pm to 4:30pm, Sunday, March 29th Where: Noisebridge map (including where to push the buzzer) Who: Anyone and everyone can have fun learning Arduino.
