Hi Sudoers:
We successfully repaired Joshua’s air mattress last week at Hardware and
SoftWEAR Hack Night!
This week we have one person signed up with an internet radio (see
https://bit.ly/itemcheckins) and we typically get lots of walk-ins too.
Typically on Tuesdays we have lots of new people visiting the space and
it can be intimidating if you don't know anyone and don't know where to
go and what to do.
So can someone try to arrive early say, 7:30 or so to greet people for
Sudoroom or sewing downstairs in the Media Lab and get them started on
their projects?
Extra Credit: 1) confirm that the VOIP phone number 442-252-8386 is
working by dialing it 2) put the Fixit Clinic sandwich sign out on the
sidewalk.
Many thanks, -Peter

This is the new sudoorom lu.ma page
As always this should not replace the main wordpress blog which is our
events page

The meetup.com page is costing $45 a month... not sure how useful it is
compared to lu.ma, which most other meetups are switching to. What do you
guys think? I'm probably going to turn off the meetup.com page and go
there, in the bay area it's all lu.ma lately since they have a free tier.
we should be putting our main meetup stuff on our wordpress blog and not
rely on a platform...

Hi Sudoers:
You / any sudomesh people here might be interested in this $15M grant
that OaklandUndivided just got from the California Public Utilities
Commission (CPUC).
https://www.oaklandundivided.org/news/cpuc-awards-oakland-15m-broadband-inf…
Maybe we (sudomesh?) should offer to work with OaklandUndivided?
If there is a separate sudomesh-related list: please forward this to
that list.
Sincerely, -Peter

Hi! I created an account on the humans subdomain as "plasticbugs" on June 4th of this year to set up a recurring membership donation. I'm not able to log into the humans portal with my saved credentials (from 1password) and am not getting a password reset using my email address or my username. Is someone on this list able to help me recover my account? TIA!
Hi Sudoers:
We have two people signed up with broken items for Hardware and SoftWEAR
Hack Night tonight (see https://bit.ly/itemcheckins) and we typically
get lots of walk-ins too.
Tuesday nights we have lots of new people visiting the space and it can
be intimidating if you don't know anyone and don't know where to go and
what to do.
So can someone try to arrive early say, 7:30 or so to greet people and
let them into Sudoroom or the Media Lab and get them started on their
projects?
Extra Credit: 1) confirm that the VOIP phone number 442-252-8386 is
working by dialing it 2) put the Fixit Clinic sandwich sign out on the

In the tradition of Matt Senate's morning math, I'm starting a morning
session, quick and easy, of morning math in-person at the Sudoroom Tuesday
morning 7/16 7-7:45am.
I probably won't make it online, but it's a possibility!
Event will be bring your own coffee, kept drama free, with as little
screentime as possible, only using the whiteboards if we can and no
laptops.

I am _really_ excited to invite y'all to our potluck tonight, it's in
collaboration with the Internet Archive/Dweb Camp, and looking at how we
can bring regenerative concepts to how we use technology. I would love to
have anyone interested in tech and a better world come, and join the

Gathering! This month's event features a potluck dinner followed by a guest
talk on integrating permaculture perspectives into digital systems, and
touches on the work towards a decentralized web, presented by noms (Naomi
Joy Smith).
*Overview from noms:* How can permaculture design connect with our
socio-digital patterns, and what does mission-aligned tooling look like
from the perspectives of earth care, people care, and fair share?
noms is a Pākeha from Aotearoa, currently involved in designing local-based
projects including community-owned data farms and pop-up digital hygiene
sessions. They currently support the DWeb Camp <https://dwebcamp.org/>
event team and contribute to Socialroots.io, a cooperative building network
coordination tools.
This gathering is a warm invitation to anyone interested in these topics,
whether you're a newbie or seasoned permaculturist. Come to connect, share,
and take some full exhales.
*What to Bring:* Yourself, your friends, potluck items if you can, and your
reflections on the question: What can tech learn from permaculture design,

much love,

I haven't contacted them but it looks like this circuit board manufacturer is
willing to make boards for us in exchange for "promotion"
if the promotion is as simple as putting the fact that they donated production
of the circuit boards onto the circuit boards, maybe we can design a board,
like a musical badge or something, that people can build at sudoroom
