I noticed someone swept sudoroom and cleaned up a little bit, and it looks
nice.
I spent some time tonight moving stuff to the e-waste area and throwing
out trash and recycling and stuff.
There was a lot of stuff that I was like "how the fuck did this even get
inside sudoroom? Someone dumped it on us?
I really look forward to the day when Sudoroom has its own door, that can
be closed and locked when no members are here. That way, if someone wants
to drop off a bunch of garbage that they found down the street in the
Creative Re-Use dumpster, they will have to explain it to the member who
is watching out for that stuff - and hopefully the member will be
discriminating about donations.
Don't get me wrong, we get great donations, and they need sorting and it's
OK, but we get a lot of junk that doesn't belong, and I can only imagine
that it's being dropped off when nobody is here to say
"wait what!??! NO!!! take it back to wherever you got it, you can't
leave that here."
so, what do we think about a door? I guess it's complicated because there
are three ways to get into sudoroom.

there is a giant printer or photocopier thing in sudoroom, nobody wants it
here, it should go. I think it works, there are instructions on the front
for what to do in case the menu comes up in Japanese.
If you know anyone who wants it they should take it away, at least out of
Sudoroom.
It is a:
SAVIN 3350 DNP
I think you need a pickup truck to move it, but it might fit in the trunk
of a large car. It comes with extra drums or ink or whatever.
If nobody responds to this message saying they want to take it, i will
find someone to get it out of here within the next few days.

has anybody played with uv4l api (http://www.linux-projects.org/)?
looks like you can record in HD & control robots or ptz from any web
browser from anywhere in the world!
or a drive with 5TB or more free space.. or a stack of 1TB drives...
it's for a good cause, i only need it for a few days in sudoroom. it will
be returned without the data i need to migrate (or with cat pictures if
you prefer)
thank you

Anyone know how easy it is to get up on the roof of the Bocce Ball court?
There's some folks who would like to shoot some interviews in CCL next
Wednesday morning, but they would like to be able to block out some of the
light through the skylights.
Thanks!

bar, performers, and amazing shiny, blinky, glowy, future-y costumes. We’ll
also have exhibitions and demonstrations by talented local artists, coders,
gamers, and YOU! Feel free to add your project to our official event page &
bring it to the party!
Everyone is invited: geeks, dorks, nerds, hipsters, hippies, punks,
weirdos, gentrifiers, friends new and old.

As well as being the most kick-ass Halloween party in SF, this party will
benefit a GREAT cause. You can help Noisebridge fund our new kick-ass laser
cutter (click here for specs on the cutter). As you probably know,
Noisebridge is a 501(c)(3) organization that has helped countless numbers
of people over the past eight years. We’ve benefited so many members of the
public, especially those working on technical and creative projects, and
hope to continue to do so long into the future. This party is to encourage
community and help us raise the remaining $3,746 to pay for our awesome new
laser cutter! Please encourage people to attend! Or, Get Involved as a
Volunteer! Noisebridge loves you!
Hi all,
I'm Steve Phillips, co-founder of Santa Barbara Hackerspace
<http://sbhackerspace.com/> and Python/Go/JavaScript developer. I gave a
talk at DEF CON last year and in a week I'm moving from Santa Barbara to
the Bay to be closer to DEF CON/cypherpunk-type people.
I checked out Sudo Room a couple days ago, and got to meet Jake/jerkey and
a couple other people.
Anyone know of any places for <= $1200/month that's close to either
Noisebridge or Sudo Room? I've found Hack'n'Sleep and other "hacker
houses"/hostels like that, but something less cramped or close to fellow
cypherpunks would be better.
Any tips you have would be appreciated. Thanks, and I'll see you all soon!

does anyone know a guy named nate or nathaniel who left all his stuff in
sudoroom? a big backpack full of his stuff, notebooks, etc..
it was there when i left last night. people shouldn't expect their stuff
to stay safe unattended, and i'm wondering where this person came from and
went to and whether they're coming back.
